Bangalore: Businessman Aditya Raheja, promoter of Pebble Bay project near Dollar's colony in Bangalore North, was arrested on Monday in a cheque bounce case and later released by the court.
Senior police officers claimed there was some confusion over the case number and Raheja was released.
As per the case, Aditya Raheja, one of the promoters of Pebble Bay project near Nagashettyhalli, had taken the services of Santhosh Kumar of United Estates during execution of the project and Pebble Bay project had to pay Rs 13.59 crore to Santhosh.
After the cheques, issued from Standard Chartard Bank and presented through Escrow bounced, Santhosh Kumar filed cases against Pebble Bay Developers in the 16th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. Ten cases of cheque bounce were filed against the developers, where Aditya Raheja was one of the parties.
On Monday afternoon, Aditya Raheja arrived from Mumbai to Bangalore. As he was coming out of the airport, the Cubbon Park police arrested him.
