However, 57 companies (approximately 100 personnel in each company or 5,700 personnel) of paramilitary and other state police will be assisting the Andhra Pradesh police. The city police have been specially advised to focus on security of industries to keep the image of `Brand Hyderabad' intact.
Hyderabad police commissioner A K Khan said 18 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed in the city and all police personnel have been asked to report for duty. He also told the DGP that electronic media has been reminded about the guidelines issued by News Broadcasters Association ( NBA) regarding coverage of the issue.
Cyberabad commissioner Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said adequate security has been provided at sensitive areas and his staff was in constant touch with the managements of various corporate houses and commercial entities in Cyberabad. City police have already dispatched notices to managements of industries, commercial establishments and educational institutions to step up private security and cover glass facade of their structures with nets.
Police pickets have been established and special police teams would patrol in Gachibowli and Madhapur areas, where several corporate houses are located.
Police officials also felt that troublesome students might not participate vigorously as many of them had been behind bars for a considerable amount of time till recently.
Some officials suggested that bulk SMS's should be banned for a specific period after the release of the report, but that was ticked off as it requires prior permission from DoT and communication with service providers.
The Railway police were also asked to step up vigil on tracks and run pilot trains to check any attempts of sabotage.
Police were asked to show restraint in handling protesters. Additional DG M Ratan said that they anticipate the next few days to be peaceful, but as a precautionary measure adequate bandobust arrangements have been made.
