Hyderabad: At last, the Censor Board of Film Certification on Thursday gave clearance to the release of controversial film Jai Bolo Telangana (JBT) made by director N Shankar in the backdrop of separate Telangana movement.
Interestingly, the Censor Board gave “A” (Adults Only) certificate to the film, though there are no violent scenes in the film. Apparently, the Board felt that some of the dialogues and scenes in the film are provocative and can instigate the minds of the youth and create hatred. Hence, the A certificate.
The Revising Committee of the Board, which reviewed the film after the Censor Board declined the film certification a couple of days ago, suggested as many as eight cuts in the film, on the ground that some scenes and dialogues are highly objectionable. Shankar had no option but to agree for the cuts and got the certificate. “We will release the film on February 4,” he said.
“Jai Bolo Telangana” has Jagapathi Babu in the lead role and the music is composed by Chakri.
