Hyderabad: In view of warnings issued by Hindu fundamentalist groups to 'love birds', the city police have chalked out an elaborate plan to thwart their attempts on Valentine's Day.
Police officials of Central, West Zone, and Cyberabad, where majority of the V-Day hang outs exist, said that they were prepared to tackle hooligans.
DCP, West Zone, Stephen Ravindra said they would step up vigil at shopping malls and various pubs where V-Day-related events have been planned.
Outlining their plan, Bajrang Dal activist and city VHP president Vinod said they were against the Valentine's Day celebrations as "It is against the Indian culture". He said 12 teams of Bajrang Dal and VHP activists would keep a watch on places like Necklace Road, parks, shopping malls, Shamirpet lake, Gandipet, Himayatsagar, various pubs in the city, where 'love birds' are likely to reach to spend their V-Day. "After spotting lovers, we will first know their details, counsel them and then, if appropriate, get them married and if they are unemployed we will provide them employment also," Vinod said.
