If his recent moves are any indication, the answer seems a certain ‘yes’. NTR, who not only shares his name with his legendary grandfather Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, who made an indelible mark in silver screen and political arena, he also emulates the senior's acting and oratory skills.
The Junior shot to fame with Student number1, which became an instant hit. After a series of hits, he was roped in by his uncle and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to campaign for the party. More than his uncle N Balakrishna or his cousins Tarak Ratna, NTR was a crowd puller. His mannerisms, his accent, his dialogues swayed the audience. After the elections, when his uncle had to bite the dust, NTR, too, concentrated on his acting career.
Now, the junior is once again back with a bang. When his uncle announced launching a fast-unto-death, seeking better compensation for the distressed farmers in Andhra Pradesh, NTR (Jr) swung into action. He openly announced he would support his uncle or rather the Telugu Desam Party’s agenda against the Congress government. Not just that, he had also planned to participate in a relay hunger strike to publicise the issue. Meanwhile, Naidu was shifted to hospital, following his deteriorating health.
Not the one to miss the occasion, he went to the hospital along with his brother Kalyanram on Wednesday. After meeting his uncle, NTR, in a true political style said, “I requested my uncle to give up fast. However, he has refused. I can understand as my uncle's cause is bigger than his health.”
Given the political turmoil in the state, TDP sources say, the NTR junior will soon become active.
The party is also hoping that NTR (Jr) will be the star campaigner for the party when it goes to polls in 2014.
Way to go NTR!
