Vijayawada: Joint Action Committee (JAC) students from 14 universities in Rayalaseema and Andhra Pradesh warned that if state was 'bifurcated', they would launch massive agitations in the two regions.
The students leaders who met in the campus of Acharya Nagarjuna University, decided to agitate if the SKC report on statehood to Telangana was in favour of formation of a separate state.
Later, talking to reporters, students JAC President Kishore called upon student community to be prepared for any sacrifice to prevent bifurcation of the state. "We will not allow Government offices and educational institutions to function if the report is against our expectation. Government should owe responsibility for the consequences" he said.
Expressing over Government's announcement of lifting of cases against students who had indulged in violence in Telangana during the pro-Telangana agitation, he claimed lifting of cases was anti-Constitutional and pointed out that Seema-Andhra leaders had never demanded this.
