Madurai: Former President A P J Abdul Kalam was treated shabbily at the Tamil Nadu Government Guest House in Madurai City as he was made to wait for his breakfast for nearly one hour today.
Informed sources said Dr Kalam arrived late last evening at the Circuit House for an overnight stay.
Since Dr Kalam had to inaugurate a library, computer and a science centre in Government Middle School at Rameswaram where he studied decades ago, his Personal Secretary requested the authorities of the Circuit House to arrange the breakfast for the ex-President and serve the food to him by 0700 hrs today.
When Dr Kalam went to the dining room at 0700 hrs this morning, he was informed that the food was getting ready.
The same reply was given by the persons concerned thrice and at last the breakfast was served to him at 0750 hrs, nearly after one hour delay.
After taking the food, Dr Kalam hurriedly rushed to Rameswaram to attend the school function.
