Hawk eye on Rave parties

Bangalore: Cops have their eyes peeled for rave parties this year, especially along highways, and are geared to raid premises hosting illegal bashes.

Police officials are also keeping a strict vigil on revellers who party at resorts on the outskirts. "As such, we have no posh resorts on Chikkaballapur outskirts. But we are keeping a vigil on eateries along highways, especially at dhabas," he said.

NANDI HILLS

Here is some bad news for revellers who wish to welcome the New Year atop Nandi Hills, by witnessing the first sunrise of the year. Chikkaballapur police have clamped a ban on New Year celebrations atop the hills, and entry will be restricted between 6 pm on December 31 and 6 am on January 1.

Chikkaballapur DySP HT Duggappa said the ban was imposed following untoward incidents in the past. "We have come across many disasters where revellers either meet with fatal accidents or are involved in serious offences. In a bid to stop this nuisance, we have clamped a ban," he said.
