Trivandrum: Anonymous hackers attacked the home page of the official website of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (www.kpcc.org.in) on Sunday.
Renjith Balan, Information Technology adviser of the party, said he noticed the defacement at 7 p.m. The hackers posted seditious messages on the website and claimed that they were acting on the behalf of Pakistan. One of the messages said, “Kashmir belongs to Pakistan.” Another said, “Stop dreaming of making Kashmir yours.”
The KPCC has since taken its website off the Internet and lodged a police complaint.
The police, who have started working on the case, said they would try to track the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the server used by the hackers.
As many as 569 people visited the website on Sunday. A “Google report” on website hits suggested that at least two of the visits originated from Islamabad-based IP addresses.
The website defacers claimed they were members of an anti-India cyber-underground platform.
