SKC Spent Rs 15 Crore In 10 Months!
Believe it or not, the Justice Srikrishna Committee constituted to look into the T state demand has spent Rs 15 crore in a span of 10 months.
According to sources in the union home ministry, the SKC members made a fast buck during this period by submitting hefty bills to the ministry, besides spending lavishly on their tours to the state and stay in Hyderabad. Five star facilities had been provided to them wherever they went and even if one assumes that lot of expenditure was made on infrastructure and logistics for them, each of them had pocketed at least Rs 1 crore, sources alleged.
Interestingly, the committee members pampered the media bigwigs as well. After their last press conference in New Delhi, the committee presented costly watches to each of the media persons. Each watch cost around Rs 9,000 to Rs 10,000, it is said.
And what have they achieved finally? They are only suggesting a few options which have already been discussed and analysed by the media. “At the most, they have compiled all the figures into one book. It is only an academic exercise which will help a couple of researchers to get the PhD degrees,” an analyst observed.
