Employees of Kerala State Road Transport Employees Association (KSRTEA), affilitated to Left-backed Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), will strike work on January 20th.
Addressing a press conference here, CITU National Secretary K K Divakaran said the agitation was in protest against various demands which were allegedly not fulfilled.
''It was after a gap of ten years that the management had signed a salary revision agreement. However, the management continues to violate the norms of the agreement,'' he alleged.
''An earlier assurance given by the state government that the pending 33 per cent DA would be given in November was also not met. Hence, KSRTC employees are forced to go for an agitation again,'' he said.
The Association also demanded that the management avoid the undue delay in giving pension every month, he said.
The management must also take steps to regularise temperory employees, he demanded.
