Trivandrum: Kerala Govt today declared a three-day state mourning in the wake of the worst tragedy that struck Sabarimala in which 102 devotees were killed.
''It is a big tragedy and unfortunate. The state will observe a three day mourning,'' Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told reporters here.
He said the government would provide all financial assistance to the family of those killed. The financial assistance would be decided at the cabinet meeting, he added.
Mr Achuthanandan said the District Collector had been asked to file a report on the incident.
He said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had called him in the morning and expressed shock over the death of Sabarimala pilgrims.
The Prime Minister expressed condolence to the bereaved families, he added.
