Hyderabad: In a bid to reach out to consumers burdened by escalating prices of vegetables and onions, AP state Government has announced a market intervention scheme of Rs 99-pack, wherein eight vegetables, including two kg onions would be sold through special counters at all the nine Rythu bazaars in the city.
Rythu Bazar CEO L Shashidhar said on Monday that consumers could pick and choose from the seven vegetables on offer along with two kg of onions at Rs 99. The Rs 99-pack scheme would include 1kg tomato, 1 kg potato, 1 kg brinjal, 1 kg carrot, one piece of cauliflower, one piece of cabbage and 250 gm of green chillies. The Rs 99-pack scheme would be readily available till 1 pm beginning Tuesday at the Rythu bazaars in Erragadda, Kukatpally, Falaknuma and Mehdipatnam.
Another scheme of Rs 49-pack was also being made available for the price conscious consumer by including 1 kg onion, 500 gm tomato, 500 gm potato, 500 gm brinjal, 500 gm carrot and any one piece of cauliflower or one piece of cabbage and 125 gm of green chillies.
